Welfare Rights Service – Halton Borough Council

The Welfare Rights Service is a specialist team that provides free, confidential advice relating to benefits entitlements. The team have a dedicated direct line number that is answered 42 hours per week by  advisors. Benefit checks can be performed if the full information is provided to make sure that your income is maximised.

The team will also assist with the completion of benefits forms, and act as specialists in benefits appeals advice and give practical assistance if required. Representation at tribunal can be given if appropriate. Advice can be given on any welfare benefit, but the team are especially focussed on disability and carers benefits.

A separate specialist service is provided by Macmillan Welfare Rights Officers who can assist anyone who suffers from a Cancer or their carers/ family. This team can be spoken to separately on 0151 511 8214/ 0151 511 7875.
